On our 19 October 2026 reading, the West Loop rooms with the fewest open dates for two were Smyth (3%), Oriole (27%), Maxwells Trading (40%) and Ever (53%). The figure is the share of dates in each booking window that had a table for two anyone could book.
We track twelve West Loop restaurants and have measured twelve of them. The median had a table on 64% of its dates, against 71% for Chicago as a whole. So the West Loop is busy, but most of it books.

Maxwells Trading read 40% for two. It releases 21 days ahead at 7 AM on Resy, earlier than most rooms in the city, so be up for it. Its most common opening is 4:30 PM, and Thursday was its best night, open on 69% of checks.
Trivoli Tavern read 67% for two, and 73% of its dates opened up at some point. It releases 21 days ahead at 9 AM. Its most common opening is 10:00 PM, so a late table is often there when the prime hours are not.
Maxwells Trading: 21 days ahead at 7 AM, Resy. Most common opening 4:30 PM.
Trivoli Tavern: 21 days ahead at 9 AM, Resy. Most common opening 10:00 PM.
Ever read 53% for two and 67% for four, so a party of four has the better odds. It books on OpenTable and opens new dates on the first Tuesday of the month, two months ahead, in the morning.
Monteverde read 60% for two and 67% for four. Its rule is 30 days ahead at midnight, on Resy.
Omakase Yume read 58% for two and 39% for four. It is a counter, so book as a pair. Its Resy listing opens the next month on the 1st of the month before.
The two tasting menus book on Tock, a long way out. Smyth releases 90 days ahead at noon and read 3% for two. Oriole books 90 days ahead and read 27%.
A long window means the far dates fill first and the near ones come back as tickets are returned. Watch the week you want rather than the release day.
