What is the hardest Italian reservation in Chicago?

At our 19 October 2026 reading, the Italian rooms with the fewest open dates for two were Ciccio Mio (7%), Dimmi Dimmi (42%) and Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio (60%). The order is recomputed from live checks, and Chicago's record started in late September 2026, so it will move.

How do you get a Ciccio Mio reservation?

Be on Resy at its release, 21 days ahead at 9 AM. Ask for four, which read 63% against 7% for two, or take a late table: its most common opening is 10:30 PM. 57% of its dates had a table open up at some point, so an alert works too.

Which Chicago Italian restaurants are easy to book?

The most open Italian rooms we track were Amano Bistro (100%), Ascione Bistro (100%), Coda di Volpe (100%) and The Village at the Italian Village (100%). Void read 77% and Daisies 83%.

Does SnagRes book the table for me?

No. SnagRes watches the calendars and texts or emails you when a table opens. You book it yourself in your own account. It never books, holds or resells a table.

Frequently asked questions

What are the hardest Italian reservations in Chicago?

On our 19 October 2026 reading, the Chicago Italian rooms with the fewest open dates for two were Ciccio Mio (7%), Dimmi Dimmi (42%) and Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio (60%). The figure is the share of dates in each restaurant's booking window that had a table for two anyone could book.

We track ten Italian restaurants in Chicago and have measured ten of them. The median room had a table on 82% of its dates. So the hard part of this list is short, and the rest of it books.

These numbers are young. Chicago joined the tracker in late September 2026, so each rate rests on a few weeks of checks, not months. Expect some rooms to move as the record grows.

How do people get into Ciccio Mio?

Ciccio Mio is a small River North room, and it books tight. A table for two was open on 7% of dates when we looked. But 57% of its dates had a table open up at some point, so tables do come back.

Two things help most. Ask for four: four-tops read 63%. And eat late: its most common opening is 10:30 PM, and 87% of what opens is at 9 PM or later.

Its rule is 21 days ahead at 9 AM, on Resy. Be signed in with your party size set a minute before. Tuesday was its best night, open on 39% of checks. For any other night, set an alert and let the cancellation find you.

Two: 7% of dates. Four: 63%. Opened up at some point: 57%.

Most common opening 10:30 PM, with 87% of openings at 9 PM or later.

Release: 21 days ahead at 9 AM, on Resy.

Dimmi Dimmi and Monteverde

Dimmi Dimmi in Lincoln Park read 42% for two, and 68% of its dates opened up at some point. Its most common opening is 11:00 AM, so the dinner hours are the tight part. Its Resy listing opens the next month on the 1st of the month before, in the morning. That is the day to book a dinner.

Monteverde in the West Loop read 60% for two and 67% for four. Its rule is 30 days ahead at midnight, on Resy. Wednesday was its best night, open on 99% of checks.

Both are rooms where planning pays. Book on the release, take the less popular night, and keep an alert on the Saturday you really want.

Italian rooms you can book this week

At the other end, the most open Italian rooms we track were Amano Bistro (100%), Ascione Bistro (100%), Coda di Volpe (100%) and The Village at the Italian Village (100%). Void read 77%, Daisies 83% and Sal's Trattoria 81%.

A high rate here does not mean a weaker kitchen. It usually means more seats or more seatings. If the date is fixed and you want pasta that night, start with these.

Does a party of four help?

Sometimes. Of the Italian rooms we measure, two read higher for four than for two. Ciccio Mio is the clearest case. At Dimmi Dimmi it runs the other way, 35% for four against 42% for two. Check both sizes before you give up on a night.

How do you catch a cancellation?

Most hard tables come from changed plans, not from the release. They reappear on Resy or OpenTable at hours nobody predicts and go in minutes. SnagRes checks these rooms around the clock and texts or emails you the moment one opens.

SnagRes never books, holds or resells a table. It tells you a table is free, and you book it yourself at the restaurant's own price.
